RiSE 2022

A Happy New RiSE Season To You All!

We are delighted to announce the beginning of the 2022 RiSE season - the most exciting set of 'Challenges' yet. The theme for this 2022 season is Fighting Galamsey (i.e. Fighting Small Scale Illegal Mining). Teams will enjoy learning about various aspects of robotics; especially those related to robot navigation techniques, grabbing & lifting, obstacle avoidance, sensoring, application of many of the topics in maths and science lessons in 'regular' school, etc.

Challenges

  1. Mission Category

  2. Exhibition Category

GRAF would like teams and their coaches to pay PARTICULAR attention to the following:

  1. Kickoff meeting - February 12, 2022 at 1pm [13:00 UTC/GMT]. This means teams and coaches will have at least 10 days to peruse the attached documents so they can be ready for the kick-off meeting. This is a virtual meeting (VM) to explain in detail what the 'Challenges' are and also afford teams and their coaches the opportunity to ask questions and also seek clarification on any issues). The GOOGLE MEET LINK for the VM: https://meet.google.com/rek-gdxx-bkj

  2. General Rules - Teams are advised and encouraged to take time to read the rules as thoroughly as expected. Over the years, it has been very clear that sufficient attention has not been paid, which has led to under-performance.

GRAF is determined, ready and willing to support any and every team to do well not just in RiSE but also the international competitions.

'Consistency' (in practice) will match and beat 'Talent' any and every SINGLE time so start early, start now, be fervent in practice'.
